A swift glance around the creative working environment of Alex Palkovich will suggest to the visitor that this is an individual of wide-ranging talents and abilities. The delicate sculptural piece depicting the engrossing passion of a violinist immersed in her performance contrasts dramatically in scale compared to the bronze relief of an elderly man at morning prayers who glimpses the eternal. Alex's pieces have an intense focus on detail and a commitment to making his vision explicit. His abilities as a keen observer combine with a significant intellect, humor, and sensitivity to provide added dimensions to his work. Unlike those who communicate in words, Alex uses clay, metal, and glass to convey the stories that lay within each piece. Sculpture has always been his passion. Through the years he has lent his hands to many different art forms. As with all of Alex's work, the focus is primarily on creating an original, dynamic and emotive composition with a great deal of energy. Each shift in the position of the form reveals some new facet or insight. He is particularly fascinated by faces, and comments that "every face is beautiful and interesting."
